I just could not devote much time cooking recipes which take away a lot of time from our regular schedules. So I think and discover the ways to make tasty yet healthy and delicious recipes within just a few minutes. While thinking is a good habit , thinking about the betterment of human health through low fat recipes is even better! My previous a number of recipes revolve around vegetables. Sometimes we need to blend and balance our diets with non vegetarian touches that has the capacity to yield even more fruitful result both for our minds and bodies. Thus I opted to prepare easy and tasty chicken side dish which possess fat reducing factors; yet produce a sumptuous appetite to suffice the non vegetarian cravings you have grown inside:)
Yogurt chicken or Dahi chicken is a common idea but it takes a deep plunge if you consider making it healthier than the so called oil dripped Bengali dishes such as Kasha Mangsho, Creamy Chicken Salsa, Parsian style Chicken curry etc. I recommend using less cooking oil for the recipe as both chicken and yogurt are generous source of fat/oil. It encourages people to eat dishes in almost any form but with a positive health quotient associated somehow or the other to the recipes. I came across the tv show Fitfoodie hosted by Chef Vikas Khanna a few days ago. It gave me even greater inspiration to think and prepare low fat diets such as Low fat chicken recipe which is actually a low fat consumption in disguise of a gorgeous side dish made up of our favorite non vegetarian chick chick chicken:)
- 750 gms of Chicken
- 100 gms sour yogurt
- 2 medium onions (diced)
- 3 tbsp ginger paste
- 1 tsp garlic paste
- 4 green chillies (each cut into halves)
- 3 medium tomatoes (pasted)
- 1 and 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
- salt to taste
- 2 tbsp fresh cream
- 2 tsp cumin powder
- 2 tbsp Sundrop Heart Vegetable Oil
- 2 tsp Kashmiri Chilli powder
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp kasuri methi
Take a pan; add oil and bring to medium flame. Put onions and saute until they turn into golden brown.
Add tomato paste and stir. Throw green chillies.
Time to add cumin powder, ginger and garlic paste. Stir well.
Add yogurt and mix well with other ingredients.
Put chicken into the pan and coat chicken thoroughly with spices. Add kashuri methi on top. Toss well.
Sprinkle Kasmiri Chilli Powder, salt, garam masala pwder, sugar and fresh cream. Put the lid on for next 10 minutes.
Add little amount of water and keep intact for next 5 minutes putting the lid on.
Hot low Fat Chicken Recipe - Dahi(yogurt) Chicken is ready to be served with Rice/ Roti:) It goes well equally with Rice and Roti..yummy and tasty:)
